Born in Granada, Spain, and now a visiting professor at the University of Virginia, Valverde is a leading figure in the Poetry of Uncertainty movement and was voted the most relevant Spanish-language poet born since 1970 by a group of 200 representatives from universities around the world. Making Valverde’s work available to English speakers for the first time in book form, this bilingual edition presents a series of lyrical meditations on “harm,” tracing its many manifestations through history, geography, and the distancing mechanism of language. Valverde will be in conversation with his translator, Allen Josephs, University Research Professor at the University of West Florida.
