Christmas Sermons Vol. Two: Sermons and Teachings About the Christmas Season (Paperback)
Coming up with fresh ideas on the Old-Old Story of Christmas seems to cause pastor's added anxiety at a season of the year where joy should consume our lives. During the 40 plus years of ministry to the church I have written many sermons related to Christmas and I want to share some of them with you. The following are a sampling of those sermons which I believe will give you food for thought. If you are like me, you probably look more for ideas than whole sermons; at best you want an outline you can work from. I have expanded my thoughts as much as possible without writing out the sermon for you. Feel free to download the kindle version of the book, maybe you have already, lift off the section you want to work with and edit away. Each of these sermons have more information than a pastor can use in any one sermon, at least I hope you don't preach that long. My hope would be that you take from the sermon the parts that speak to your heart as you prepare your sermon and then leave the rest for another day. My goal for sermons has always been to give a few good ideas that people can go home and think about. I have never had all of the answers nor have I believed that my interpretation of the Scripture passage is the best, just the best I believe God let me understand at the moment. Beyond that, I trust the Holy Spirit to help my listeners learn from Him, from the Scriptures, and from other teachers along the way. As time goes on they will grow in their understanding and in their faith and someday, like the rest of us, we will know completely when we join Jesus face to face in heaven. I hope these sermons help you along the way as you continue to serve Jesus in your preaching and teaching. May you be blessed as you share the good news in the Christmas story to those who might be willing to listen. Blessings.
