Through this book Mr. H.K.L. Sachdeva - The Poet, has tried to post a compendium of his Poetry in the form of Nazams, Gazals, Rubayis and Ashaar. The Poet has taken due care to depict the Surroundings, People and The Society -Day to Day Life of People, Their Happiness and Sorrows. He has also tried to emphasise through his Poetry that the people can lead a better life by being a part of the Society rather than by leading a life like Robinson Crusoe. He has also emphasised that although the Sorrows are also Part of Life, it is the Happiness which is the Gist of Life. The Book will prove not only to be a treat for the eyes for the readers but also something worth brain storming. The views of the readers will certainly prove to be an asset for the Poet to relish, cherish and help him write even better for the readers.
Mr. H.K.L. Sachdeva was born on April 25, 1945 in Quetta, Balochistan (Now in West Pakistan). He did his Graduation (Honours) in Mathematics, Post Graduation in Philosophy and later also did Graduation in Law, all from University of Delhi. Having had a long inning in State Bank of India, he was also accredited with Associate Certificate (C.A.I.I.B.) from India Institute of Bankers, Mumbai. He was married to Mrs. Madhu Sachdeva in 1970 and is blessed with two daughters Deepali sachdeva Kanjilal and Cauvery Sachdeva Handa, both excelled in their fields and are married and well settled. Madhu, Deepali and Cauvery, all three of them, had been a good source of inspiration for him in his writing Poetry. He, right from his school time, was interested in reading and reciting Urdu Poetry of Noted Poets and later he started writing his own Poetry when he was in his twenties. His first Poem was published when he was hardly Twenty. His interest, in Poetry, could perhaps be attributed to the place where his forefathers belonged to, that is Gujranwala (Now in West Pakistan), a place where the noted Poets, like, Waris Shah and Amrita Pritam were born. Mr. Sachdeva, although took to retirement from State Bank of India ending June 2001, he actually did not retire and is actively working even now. After having a short stint in National Bank of Oman, Muscat, he came down to Dubai and started working in a Media Company as HR and Finance Consultant. In Dubai, he used to recite the Poetry of other Poets as also his own Poetry on City 1016 Radio (Courtesy: Mr. Sayyad Arshad, RJ). As of now, he has written more that 300 Nazams / Gazals and large number of Rubaayiis and Ashaar. He writes Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi Poetry, in Devnagri Script. Most of his Poetry emphasizes the need of people, at large, to be a part of the Society and not like people who prefer to be loners like Robinson Crusoe. Morevoer his Poetry also emphasizes that although sorrows are part of life, it is happiness which is the gist of life. This book named "Madhoshiyan" is just a small collection of his Urdu / Hindi Poetry. This book will prove not only to be a treat for the eyes for the readers but also something worth brain storming. The view of the readers will certainly prove to be an asset for him to relish, cherish and help him write even better for the readers. After this book, he plans to bring out his next lot, which will be his Punjabi Poetry.
