Exploring the Striking Contrasts of India (Paperback)
"When I opted to explore India with a group traveling and living in a train car called a "Special Bogie"-on a five-thousand-mile route for six weeks-I knew I was in for an adventure. In 1982-1983 I took a sabbatical from my position as a professor of psychology at the University of Missouri-Columbia to explore as much of the world as I could in one year. Since I had already seen much of Western Europe as a civilian teaching on Air Force bases for two and a half years, I wanted something different-and that's what I got. Although I would only recommend this kind of trip to someone who is a risk-taker and is extremely healthy, in retrospect I appreciated that I had had the opportunity to see India "up close and personal.
